Sketch Development

You may recognize this Roman cavalryman from the color illustration titled, “Army of Diocletian”…I usually development my drawings in about 2 or 3 stages….Note how the first sketch is to established basic form and proportions (the shield is to big!)….The sketch, on the right, is now more detailed in armor and other details…
